On Sunday night, I headed down to the Deaf Institute to shoot the sold out show of Amber Run's. The venue was awesome, there's such a vibe and it was packed full of people eagerly waiting for the lads to come on stage. I arrived as Pixel Fix were on, giving me a few songs to get used to lighting and the different angles to shoot from - so I was ready to go when it was Amber Runs turn.
The seating area at the back and viewing platform were very handy for various shot angles, which you wouldn't have in another venue. A great spot to grab crowd shots from (see photo above).
I was looking forward to shooting the band, as i've listened to their music and grown quite fond of them. And my god, what a sound they have - such a talented band and their crowds show that. The front man's voice is incredible, and the harmonies from the rest of the band just top it all off. The crowd got really into it and were singing the lines back to the band. It takes my breath away when the crowd takes over the whole venue, it creates such an atmosphere.
The guys are back in Manchester on the 30th April at Sound Control, tickets are on sale here:http://goo.gl/WZjz6P
I'll certainly be going, camera or no camera!
